Another Post

I had the best intentions for this blog and after a flurry of ideas it has gone cold, so I’m deciding to write SOMETHING and just brainstorm some ideas before getting into anything meaty. I’ve got some great ideas, but maybe not the conviction or time to execute them. Firstly, it’s good to notice that I have no creative writing experience beyond these words and no blogging experience, so it makes sense that I am faltering a bit. I’m just a bloke with very little time on his hands and a half baked idea, fuelled by a conversation I had with somebody that encouraged me to use writing to express and nourish myself. I am trying to establish and outline what this idea is and learn blogging simultaneously. Look, I’m just going to roll into it.

I have several pretty solid ideas, however I don’t want to start with my best ones. It’s probably smart to start small and build up to those. I’ve been thinking about where exactly to pitch this stuff, if it’s properly informative and therapeutic, or more toward just movie review content with a therapy flavour. Only time will tell. It’s a better idea to re-watch these movies and take some notes, or even write while I watch, then I can be more accurate and concise with my review/diagnosis. So I think I should commit and focus on one project, then see how this goes. I need to base this around my existing movie scheduling, and something which is rich for this type of content.

I am going to watch ‘The Autopsy of Jane Doe’. I have actually seen it before so I know what to expect. What I can use is the fear response of the protagonists and how they behave. The events depicted may certainly evoke the autonomic nervous system and fight, flight or freeze responses. INTERESTINGLY, the film also features witchcraft which was often used as an explanation for those with mental illness during the darker ages. The post format will be me just brainstorming and having some fun, so here goes!

First

Here’s an idea; I’m going to combine two things that I’m passionate about in order to express myself and develop my skills. I have the deepest respect for the therapeutic process and the client or patient receiving it. This site is intended as a bit of satire on fictional characters, although similarities to real life situations will inevitably be drawn. Other than that, I’m just going to bang on about movies and try to be funny.
